Year 1 and 2 excursion

6/09/2011
A train ride through the Botanical garden, Bundaberg

On Tuesday the 6th of September Cordalba Year 1 and 2 students visited the Hinkler Hall of Aviation in Bundaberg.

The Hinkler Hall of Aviation pays tribute to Bert Hinkler as a pioneer of flight and as a person who was significant in the advancement of aviation during the early 20th century.

Students were able to experience Bert Hinkler’s incredible life and adventures with the numerous mechanical and high-tech displays and interactive attractions.
Students also visited Bert Hinkler’s House which was dismantled in England and brought back to Bundaberg. Hinkler house allowed the students to see the private life of Bert Hinkler. Students loved the door mysteriously opening by itself.
Year 1 and 2 were also lucky to catch a train ride around the Botanical Gardens. Volunteers from Bundaberg Sugar gave their time to explain the safety and rules as well as the history of all of the trains. Students and parents enjoyed the opportunity of blowing the horn. A great day was had by all.
